As a Government & Public Relations Specialist at LAIT911, you will play a key role in enhancing the organization’s visibility, building relationships with government officials, and engaging with the public to promote our mission of disaster prevention and community resilience. Your efforts will ensure effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities

Government Relations:

  • Advocacy: Develop and implement strategies to advocate for LAIT911’s mission and goals with local, state, and federal government entities.
  • Legislative Monitoring: Track and analyze legislation and policies that impact disaster prevention and community safety.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with government officials, agencies, and policymakers.
  • Representation: Represent LAIT911 at government meetings, hearings, and other relevant events.

Public Relations:

  • Communication Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance LAIT911’s public image and awareness.
  • Media Relations: Engage with media outlets to secure coverage of LAIT911’s initiatives and events. Prepare press releases, media kits, and manage media inquiries.
  • Community Engagement: Organize and participate in community outreach activities to promote LAIT911’s programs and services.
  • Content Creation: Create compelling content for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, and the organization’s website.
